KA-O VITAMIN TRACE MINERAL (Copper Free Supplement) Formulated especially for Sheep (Caprine) and Goats (Ovine). Knock-Out Vitamin/Trace Mineral Deficiencies in your sheep and goats with this new supplement developed specifically for your animals. Our similar all purpose supplement for cattle has resulted in very favorable results and comments from our customers who depend on butterfat and protein content for higher profitability. Your herd will have better coat luster and general well being with KA-O. DIRECTIONS FOR USE Mix 7 to 10 pounds of KA-O with each ton of feed or top dress at a rate of 1 teaspoon for each 40 pounds of body weight. Why Copper Free?Small ruminants have different requirements than beef cattle, with copper being the prime example. For sheep, levels above 25 mg/kg of Cu are considered toxic, while cattle do not reach toxicity levels until 400 mg/kg are present in the diet. As Cu toxicity in sheep is swift and deadly, it is crucial that only minerals designated for sheep be used. Copper supplied in feed usually is adequate for small ruminants and copper supplementation is unnecessary and dangerous. The Advantages of Adding Vitamin/Mineral SupplementsMineral supplementation is a very important, yet often overlooked, facet of sheep and goat production. A diet very rarely provides all of the needed macro- and micro-minerals without supplementation. A combination of soil type, plant species and climatic conditions result in consistent deficiencies in certain geographical areas. These minerals need to be supplemented in the diet in these areas. Additionally, today’s superior genetics result in animals that require higher amounts of minerals in order to perform up to their genetic potential. For these reasons, it is imperative that a complete mineral supplement is offered to small ruminants at all times. It does the animal no good if we provide minerals in a form that it cannot utilize. Iron Horse minerals are of high quality and in a readily available form. They are easily digested and absorbed by small ruminants. Cost can be a very big concern to the producer as well. Compare our label and prices and you will recognize a great value advantage. |
